Pope Leo XIV to Convene Second Consistory of Cardinals in June
The expected dates are June 27-28, the liturgical vigil of Saints Peter and Paul.
VATICAN CITY, 8 June 2026 — Pope Leo XIV will hold a second consistory of Cardinals at the end of June 2026.
In comments to The College of Cardinals Report, at the conclusion of the Jan. 7-8 Extraordinary Consistory of Cardinals, Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco, O.P. of Algiers said the Holy Father “gave us an appointment for two days at the end of June.”
At a press conference following the two-day meeting, Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said that Pope Leo will next convene members of the Sacred College around the liturgical feast of Saints Peter and Paul, with the gathering expected to take place on June 27–28.
Bruni added that, in his concluding remarks, the Holy Father expressed a desire to establish an annual meeting with the Cardinals lasting three to four days. Such a format, he said, would allow more time for discussion on key issues and for free interventions by members of the Sacred College.

I think Pope Leo is going to keep the Cardinals busy!
Prevosts election was invalid because the cardinals violated two laws. First they violated the maximum of 122 electors contrary to Pope JPII’s Universi Dominici Gregis, and second they elected a man who had made statements against the Catholic Faith (he supported Fiducia Supplicans, Amoris Laetitia and was against capital punishment) contrary to Pope Paul IV’s Bull Cum Ex Apostolatus Oficio.
